Ida Giedraite (born Ausra Giedraityte) was born in Lithuania in 1992. A former competitive rhythmic gymnast and later a chess player with an international FIDE rating, she spent her teenage years living in Belgium, volunteering in South Africa, and later living in the United Kingdom before returning to Lithuania to train at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
